Scott Weidensaul posted on PABirds that a Selasphorus showed up in a yard in Berks Co on the morning of Tuesday Nov 8th. And Scott has informed me that Sandy Lockerman banded a hatch-year female (actually male) Rufous on the afternoon of Friday Nov 11th. No other details were available then. However, on Sun Nov 13th, Mike Slater posted on Facebook that Sandy had addressed the Baird Ornithological Club on Friday and stated that the banded RUHU was in his neighborhood. And that he had observed and photographed an obvious Selasphorus that same Sun morning in his yard. Presumably, this was the same hummer, but that will await further verification.

On Monday Nov 14th, Mike Slater posted on Facebook that the hummer at his house was absent Sunday evening Nov 13th during a banding attempt (but subsequently found out that it WAS present at the other location in town at that time). And it was present at both locations early Monday morning. Mike also posted 2 photos showing the band on the hummer's right leg - see below. And Mike posted on Fb on Tues Nov 15th that Sandy had recaptured the hummer at his place and confirmed it as the same HY-M (MALE) RUHU banded previously about a mile away last Friday.

On Tues Dec 6th, Mike Slater posted on PABirds that the banded HY-M RUHU continues at his location, along with links to photos on both google and eBird. Again on Mon Dec 12th, Mike posted more photos of 'Spot' on Fb. Mike also IM on Fb that the hummer tanked up late on Sunday Dec 18th. Then again on Christmas Sunday, Mike posted an early morning photo of 'Spot' on Fb and eB, but a subsequent comment in Fb indicated that the RUHU was not seen again that day after fueling up around 8:29 AM.

FO early fall/16 ↔ LO 12/10/16

Berks Co. -- Imm Male Calliope in Robesonia
BANDED 12/6/16 by Scott W
FO 11/5/16 ↔ LO 12/10/16

On Tues Dec 6th Scott Weidensaul posted on PABirds that he had banded an immature male Calliope in Robesonia where it's been coming to a feeder since Nov 5th. Scott also noted that the CAHU had a heavy fat load. AND there's a distinct possibility that this is the same CAHU seen in Montgomery Co earlier.

Mike Slater IMed on Fb on Sun Dec 18th that the host of the CAHU in Berks Co called Jack Holcomb's radio show (WEEU-830AM) on Saturday morning and gave an LO date of Sat Dec 10th.

Columbia Co. -- Selasphorus in Unknown Locale
BANDED ? date by Sandy L
FO ?/?/16 ↔ LO /?

Sandy Lockerman posted on PABirds on Sunday Nov 6th that she had previously banded a Selasphorus in Columbia Co. The only additional info that I have is that it was in SW Columbia Co. Assuming this was a Rufous would make this the first banding of a RUHU in Columbia Co PA and I have updated the map accordingly.

Subsequent inquiries led to posting of a video and photos of an obvious adult female Selasphorus which she had hosted in mid-November of 2016. Scott Weidensaul did make a visit to attempt to band this hummer, but it was not seen that day.

Greene Co. -- Possible Selasphorus in Jefferson
NOT BANDED
FO 10/26/16 ↔ LO 11/15/16

On Tues Nov 15, Sandy Hoy Walters posted a picture of a hummer on a feeder in Greene Co. The photo is inconclusive for ID, but since it's mid-November, RTHU can be most likely ruled out. And Sandy subsequently informed me (Fb) that the hummer was mostly green and last seen that same day, after having been present since Oct 26th.

Juniata Co. -- Selasphorus in Oakland Mills
NOT BANDED
FO 8/17/16 ↔ LO 8/17/16

Chad Kauffman posted on PaBirds on Thurs Aug 18 that Aden Troyer reported (by phone) a probable Selasphorus in his yard the evening of Wed Aug 17th. The hummer was observed thru binocs and scope with a peach-colored chest - brighter on the sides than in the center, short bill and wings, and brownish forehead. Throat was pure-white with small green spots (sounds like stippling). No description of tail except for white tips. There were no photos, but Aden was confident in the ID as a Selasphorus.

On Sunday Jan 1st, Mereidth Lombard posted that the HY-M RUHU in Denver was counted on the Lititz CBC, and that he's visiting 2 different feeders in Denver. And on Sun Jan 15th, Pamela Fisher posted on PABirds that she saw this RUHU in Stevens PA near Denver.

Meredith Lombard's video of the ANHU in York (0:56)

On Monday Nov 7th, Scott Weidensaul posted on PABirds that he had observed and confirmed a juvenile female Anna's at the residence of Greg Smith in York, PA. The ANHU had been present since Friday Nov 4th, and had apparently chased off a Selasphorus which had been first observed on Wed Nov 2nd.

Quotes from Scott's PABirds post:
"I was able to confirm -- but not band -- a female Anna's hummingbird in York, PA, today that has been present since Friday (having apparently chased off a Rufous/Allen's that had been there since Wednesday). This would be Pennsylvania's second record ANHU, after a female that was banded and overwintered in Berks County in 2010-11."
"The bird appears to be a juvenile female. It exhibits the dusky flanks with greenish spangles typical of an ANHU, along with a relatively short, straight bill; dusky markings on the undertail coverts; and overall "cold" coloration with no rufous or peach tones. The bird lacks a central gorget patch of reddish iridescent feathers common on adult females, although there is an indistinct dusky patch."

Multiple reports on Facebook and PABirds place the LO date of the ANHU as Mon Nov 14th.
