Erie Co. -- Adult Male Rufous in East Springfield
BANDED #N43573 on 11/15/04 by PNR crew
FO ~ 10/15/04 ↔ LO 12/14/04

This adult male Rufous, dubbed 'Rusty' by his hostess, was first described on PABirds as "stunning" and has been resident at the Parmerter residence in East Springfield PA since about 10/19/04. He was captured and banded on Monday 11/15/04 by Bob Mulvihill and Adrienne Leppold from Powdermill Nature Reserve, weighed in at 3.5g, and was seen returning to the feeder after banding!

I have an interesting verbal second-hand report that Arla also had a Rufousoid visitor at her feeder a couple of years ago! So this bird could possibly be a return, but we'll never know for sure. Hopefully more info on that will be forthcoming.

There is an interesting online article about 'Rusty' from the Erie Times-News dated 11/5/04 - HERE (requires free registration to read).
