Pennsylvania Winter Hummers |
According to a PABIRDS post by Scott Weidensaul, during the winter of 02-03, [he] was aware of more than a dozen western hummers in eastern Pennsylvania, of which [he] was able to catch and band six, all rufous hummingbirds; the rest were apparently Selasphorus hummers (probably rufous, but possibly Allen's or broad-tailed), though there was one confirmed immature male calliope in suburban Philadelphia, a first state record.
